As we round the corner on the home stretch of the 50th consecutive year of Sigma Chi at MTSU it is time for us to turn our attention to a matter of obligation regarding Eta Gamma’s presence on campus going forward.
As most of you know, at start of the fall semester we moved back into building number 5 on Greek Row, but things look a little different this time around. MTSU is now managing the house which relieves the burden of rent collection from the active chapter. The back debt that has been a monkey over our shoulder of every active for the last 15 years is no longer there. The home has undergone a $500,000 renovation and is once again a beautiful and safe place for our actives to live, study, and grow their bonds of brotherhood. And we remain the only original Greek Row fraternity to have a home on campus. What an honor!
In negotiating with MTSU regarding our return to building number 5 after the termination of the original lease, we agreed to provide $100,000 towards the cost of the renovation. We’ve already covered $30,000 of that obligation and now it is time to make sure we finish what we started.
In this season of Thanksgiving, I encourage you to think of how Sigma Chi and Eta Gamma have impacted your life. I hope there are many different reasons you can draw on to show your appreciation and invest in our chapter. Below you’ll find our pre-defined investment opportunities and PayPal checkout option, and a plaque honoring all who participate will be hung in the home. Anyone who contributes at the White Cross Society or higher will be invited to a celebratory dinner once we have hit our goal and it is safe to gather in a large group. Other methods to invest include using paypal.me/stonesriversigs or mailing a check to Bryan Nale at 2405 Verona Place, Murfreesboro TN 37130.
In Hoc Signo Vinces,
